Cranhill

Cranhill is a suburb of Glasgow a few miles east of the City Centre sandwiched between the M8 motorway and the A8 dual carriageway.

Built during the 1950’s along with many other public housing schemes as the answer amilies displaced by inner city slum clearances. Most (all) were named after Scottish lighthouses; Startpoint Street, Lamlash Crescent, Skerryvore Road and Crowlin Crescent are just a few of them.

Famous son's of Cranhill include footballing brothers, Jim and Joe Smith, comedy actor Gerard Kelly, and the most famous of all, actor Billy Boyd. Are there any famous daughters?
