Highlighter and special effects
Sheer, iridescent powders and creams can be used to add texture and definition to your face and are brilliant for lifting a dull complexion or perking up day make-up for a party. As a general rule, use your fingers to stroke the highlighter along your browbone and/or on the apples of your cheeks, blending it away so that the finished effect looks as though the light is catching your face. Or try one of these individual tricks: To open up small eyes, apply highlighter just under the arch of your eyebrows. To bring forward deep-set eyes, add highlighter from the creases of the lids up to the browbones. Only use highlighter if your skin is smooth and taut as it will accentuate any fine lines and wrinkles.
